Trailblazing Jamaican-American attorney makes successful visit to explore business opportunities
HOT on the heels of snatching the National Diversity Council (NDC) 2023 Woman of the Year award in Florida, Jamaican-American trailblazing attorney Alison Smith chose Jamaica as the first place to make an exploratory three-day business trip last week.
Smith, who is currently serving out her historic term as the first black president of the almost century-old Broward County Bar Association (BCBA), was accompanied by Jamaican-American attorney Marlon Hill, a partner in the law firm Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, at which she works.
Here are some of the stops they made while here:
United States Ambassador to Jamaica Nick Perry (second left) and Deputy Chief of Mission Amy Tachco (third left) welcomed Alison Smith, newly crowned Woman of the Year in South Florida, and partner in her firm, Marlon Hill, who paid a courtesy call on them at the Kingston Embassy last week.
President of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica Metry Seaga (right) and PSOJ Executive Director Imega Breese McNab (third left) play hosts to Alison Smith, newly minted South Florida Woman of the Year, and attorney Marlon Hill who were there to explore business opportunities in Jamaica.
On their visit to make a presentation at the Jamaica Stock Exchange last week, attorneys Alison Smith (third left) and Marlon Hill (left) are welcomed by Lisa Kong-Lee, general manager, Blue Power, and Andre Gooden, group business development manager at the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
