IMC 2025 promises even more
Set to take place from February 19-23 at Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston, Island Music Conference 2025 (IMC 2025), the third edition, promises a networking week of global music industry leaders converging to drive Jamaican, Caribbean, and world music forward.
IMC 2025 will boast over 25 panels and a songwriting workshop. This will be supported by keynotes, one-on-ones, IMC showcases and screenings.
Organisers say the intimate nature of the panel discussions will bring about a transparency historically unseen in the industry, and foster an environment in which established and undiscovered talent can engage in meaningful and demystifying conversations, resulting in critical career evolution.
“I’m an independent artiste, and I’ve never been to an event like this during my journey before I was an artiste or during my independent journey. So I love things like this where unity is in the community and that there are people here to educate and uplift with awareness, knowledge, and discussions where we can ask questions and a lot of things are on our radar in one place where we can pull from and decide what pieces to choose,” Grammy-winning artiste Mya, who was a panelist at the 2024 IMC told BLAVITY — one of the over 30 global media at the event during Reggae Month last year.
Endorsed and supported by the ministries of culture and tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board, CHASE Fund, IMC 2025 will feature speakers from the soca, reggae, dancehall, hip hop, and Afrobeats fraternities to name a few.
Among the discussions will be how streaming platforms, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality are shaping the music industry; government policies and partnerships for creative economy growth; as well as sonic branding.
