CAD reschedules suspended court sessions in Old Harbour, Spanish Town
KINGSTON, Jamaica- The Court Administration Division (CAD) says it has rescheduled court sessions that were suspended at the Old Harbour and Spanish Town courts earlier Thursday.
The suspension follows the declaration of a State of Public Emergency (SOE) in St Catherine South due to a recent surge in violent crime.
The CAD in a statement Thursday afternoon said normal operations of the courts are expected to resume tomorrow, barring unforeseen circumstances.
“The CAD regrets any inconvenience caused by the suspension of court sessions and assures the public that every effort is being made to minimise disruptions and ensure the timely resolution of all matters,” it added.
Circuit court sitting:
- Matters previously before the Circuit Court have been rescheduled to Monday, January 27, 2025.
Old Harbour Court (outstation)
- All matters originally scheduled for Old Harbour have been rescheduled to Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Spanish Town Court
- Civil Matters: All civil matters are rescheduled to Thursday, March 13, 2025.
- Criminal Matters: Criminal matters are rescheduled to Thursday, January 30, 2025, unless otherwise notified directly by the court.
