Blame It On The Wine for Valentine’s
With the amorous celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14, Hezron and Tad’s International Record agreed that it would be appropriate to release Blame It On The Wine Remix, an intoxicating song aimed at lovers.
Produced and marketed by that independent company, it is a roots-rocking version of the song which was first released in 2022 as part of the singer’s Man On A Mission album.
While recording the initial edition Hezron said he wanted to do another version with a lovers’ rock vibe.
“This version is strictly roots-rocking reggae, the original had a R&B feel. From day one wi know it woulda do well with a one drop feel,” Hezron told the Jamaica Observer.
Tad Dawkins, principal of Tad’s International Record, agreed and they went into the recording studio with a crack band of session players.
Kirk Bennett on drums, Mitchum “Khan” Chin (guitar), Donald “Danny Bassie” Dennis (bass), Carol “Bowie” McLaughlin (keyboards), Dean Fraser on saxophone, and Rohan Dwyer, who added synthesizers, is the side that played on Blame It On The Wine.
Dwyer also mixed and mastered the song, which is the latest collaboration between Hezron and Tad’s International Record. The company released Man On A Mission as well as The Life I Live, his 2014 debut album.
