Duhaney Park families receive food aid through H&L Foundation
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Hardware & Lumber (H&L) Foundation, the charitable arm of Hardware & Lumber Limited, has strengthened its community support by donating food packages to 50 families in Duhaney Park recently.
“H&L is like a big brother or big sister to the Duhaney Park family – always looking out for us, always showing up for us,” said Godfrey Williams, president of the Duhaney Park Community Development Committee. “Their consistent presence and support have made a real difference in the lives of our residents.”
The foundation’s holistic approach to community support includes active partnerships with the Duhaney Park Football Club and the Duhaney Park Health Centre to bolster sports and enhance healthcare services. Environmental sustainability is also a key focus, with H&L providing land for Recycle Partners of Jamaica’s plastic recycling depot on Washington Boulevard, which serves the Duhaney Park community.
“Duhaney Park has been the heart of our community since it was first developed over 60 years ago. This donation is part of our broader commitment to build a healthier, stronger neighbourhood,” said Kerry Edwards, general manager of H&L Rapid True Value. “When our neighbours thrive, we all thrive.”
The initiative is part of H&L’s long-standing tradition of strengthening communities across Jamaica through meaningful partnerships and sustainable development.
