Inter Miami’s Messi set to miss first leg against Jamaica’s Cavalier – reports
Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi is set to miss his team’s first leg Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 match against Jamaica’s Cavalier FC on Thursday, according to US media reports.
The football legend will miss his second straight game in an effort to manage his workload and avoid any potential injury, ESPN reported.
The match at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is scheduled to kick off at 8pm Jamaica time.
Despite the absence of Messi, who is regarded as one of the greatest footballers ever, Inter Miami are still favoured to get the better of the Jamaican champions with a squad that boasts other superstars such as Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
The return match is set for March 13 at the National Stadium in Kingston.
