Frazsiers Whip race to third-straight win
Real MoBay, Proven even after 6-goal thriller
DEFENDING champions Frazsiers Whip raced to a third-straight big win, spanking Los Perfectos 7-1 in the first game of the Jamaica Women’s Premier League double-header at Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Saturday.
Danisha Rattray, Davia Richards and Ricquanna Richards all scored two goals each, and Casandra Smith scored the other for Frazsiers Whip as they galloped to nine points.
Venecia Reid scored the consolation goal for Los Perfectos, who remain on six points.
Cavalier took over second place on seven points after they beat UWI Women FC 2-0 at Alpha Institute (formerly Alpha Boys’ Home).
Shanel Spence scored in the 43rd minute and Kersa Thomas added a second in the 57th for Cavalier, who have won back-to-back games after they drew their opening game.
Shikira Douglas scored a hat-trick for Arnett Gardens in their 4-1 win over Mile Gully FC in the second match at Anthony Spaulding Complex.
Tuanshae Hamilton gave Arnett Gardens the lead in the third minute before Douglas scored in the 11th, 20th and 49th minutes.
Mile Gully received a gift when Cavalier’s Annakay Richards conceded an own goal in the 76th minute.
WiFi United got their first win with a come-from-behind 5-1 triumph over Springers United at Carder Park.
Wifi were led by a brace from Tashel Davis who scored in the 16th and 64th minutes.
Evernique McLeary added another in the 41st minute, followed by goals from Tatiana Leonard (57th) and Shawrie Less (75th).
Jordan Maxwell had given Springers United the lead in the fifth minute.
Real MoBay came from a goal down to lead Proven Girls 3-2 before giving up a late goal to end 3-3, in the contest at Llandilo Sports Complex.
Proven Girls took the lead in the fifth minute when Real MoBay conceded an own goal. But Real MoBay’s Moya Thomas equalised in the 13th minute before Kryshann Reid gave them the lead in the 40th minute.
Julicia Pinnock pulled Proven Girls level at 2-2 when she scored in the 52nd minute, however Real MoBay restored their lead in the 58th minute through Ashley Lowrie.
Brianna Smith scored in the 83rd minute as the teams shared the points.
