Grand Slam Track: Zhoya wins Short Hurdles
Flamboyant Frenchman Sasha Zhoya won the Men’s Short Hurdles with 20 points after speeding to 10.55 to win the 100m event at the Grand Slam Track meet in Kingston on Sunday.
American Dylan Beard, who came into the event the leader with 12 points, was pipped on the line and finished third in the 100m in 10.67 which pushed him down to second overall with 18 points.
American Cordel Tinch was second in the 100m in a personal best 10.65 and finished third overall with 12 points.
Jamaica’s Olympic champion Omar McLeod finished seventh overall with six points after finishing sixth in the 100m with 10.73 and collected US$12,500 (J$1.9m).
His countryman, Orlando Bennett, was seventh in 10.77 and finished eighth overall with three points and will get US$10,000 (J$1.57m).
